What a personal data space is.
A personal data space is one persistent place that holds your information, your history, the permissions you have given and the relationships those permissions describe.
It is not another app that collects everything about you. It is the layer underneath the apps, so that changing an app does not mean starting over.

ACCESS, NOT COPIES
How permissioned access differs from copying everything into a platform.
Copying into a platform
- The platform holds its own version of your history.
- You cannot see exactly what was retained.
- Leaving does not retrieve what was copied.
- Each new service repeats the whole exercise.
Permissioned access
- The service reads what you approved, for the purpose you named.
- The grant has a scope and can be reviewed.
- Withdrawal ends the access.
- Your foundation stays where it was.

Choose
Pick which AI capability handles which task, pick where your personal data is stored and pick where an AI request is processed: a personal device, a cloud you select, private infrastructure or a system inside a chosen country or region.
Approve
Access is granted item by item and purpose by purpose. Nothing crosses a boundary because a service assumed it could.
Inspect
See which sources produced an answer, which capability was used, and what an agent did on your behalf.
Share selectively
Contribute a chosen slice to a shared space: a family, a group, a professional network, a local area. The rest stays personal.
Move
Change product, provider or storage environment without rebuilding your history from scratch.
Remove
Withdraw an access grant at any time. Removing access is a normal action, not an exception process.
Delete
Delete a record, a source or a whole space. Deletion is distinct from revoking access, and both are yours to perform.
PROVENANCE
Knowing where an answer came from.
When several capabilities contribute to one answer, provenance is what lets you check it. It tells you which of your sources was used, and which capability produced the result, so you can trust it, correct it, or withdraw the access that produced it.
