# Website import

## What it is

Paste a public URL so the console drafts knowledge from a page or section hub for your approval. Markdown mirrors help with some SPA sites. You preview and edit before anything is trusted for answers.

## What it’s for

Article and guide pages that already live on your site — faster than retyping. Great when you have a published explainer and want the Twin to speak from the same source.

## How to use it

1. Open **Knowledge** ([https://base.hi.speak-to.ai/knowledge](https://base.hi.speak-to.ai/knowledge)) and choose website import (also at [https://base.hi.speak-to.ai/knowledge/website](https://base.hi.speak-to.ai/knowledge/website) when available).
2. Paste a **public**, indexable article or guide URL — not a login wall.
3. Run the import and wait for the draft.
4. **Preview**, then edit titles and body so facts are accurate and scoped.
5. Approve / save, then test on `https://hi.speak-to.ai/your-name`.

## Tips / pitfalls

- Works well for public article/guide pages; **fails** on password-protected or non-indexable pages.
- Always preview and edit — do not assume the crawl is complete or correctly scoped.
- Prefer a specific article URL over a noisy homepage.
- If the draft is thin, upload the canonical PDF/DOCX instead.
